CONDUCTED BY MATC.

Instruction tailored for each individual based on their educational needs.

What is a GED/HSED?
The General Educational Development certificate (GED) is issued by a national testing service. The High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) is issued by the Wisconsin State Superintendent to people who meet the legal requirements. Only the HSED is legally equivalent to a High School Diploma in Wisconsin.

What's the difference between the GED and HSED?
The GED Certificate is issued to a student who passes the GED Test and who completes career awareness counseling.
The HSED is issued to a student who completes the GED requirements and in addition:

* has earned 0.5 credits in health, has passed an approved course or has passed a test in health;
* has earned 3.0 credits in social studies, has passed an approved course in citizenship or has passed an approved test in citizenship;
* has attained employability skills;
* has completed instruction in career awareness

Food Pantry by Second Harvest

12:00pm-1:00pm third Wednesday of the month

Volunteers arrive by 10:30

Prior registration is required.

Have extra bags? Bring them along!

Food from the Second Harvest is trucked to the BLW Neighborhood Center on the third Wednesday every month for immediate distribution. The program provides additional food to those in need and gives Second Harvest a valuable channel to increase distribution of perishable food items to ensure that good food will not go to waste.

When residents come to the Pantry, they are issued a number at the reception desk. Residents are then called to pick up their food by number. We begin issuing numbers at 9:30.

After everyone goes through the line once -- if there is food remaining, and there frequently i s-- residents can go through the line a second time.

Volunteers are welcome! To volunteer, come to the center on food pantry day by 10:30 (10:15 if this is your first time volunteering at BLW).
